From the "Land of 10,000 Lakes" to "England's green and pleasant land"
Oh my goodness! I just almost wet myself laughing.
ReplyDeleteHi Kat. Yep, it's hysterical, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteYes, it's funny, but it also serves a purpose. Reruns of Law & Order run ad nauseum on U.S. television. Why not turn entertainment into a learning experience and find out more about the cultural/linguistic differences between the U.S. and the U.K.? That might attract viewers bored with the same old same old.
ReplyDeleteI agree that it's good to teach some of the cultural/linguistic differences and that the video serves that purpose. It's also very funny!
ReplyDeleteHi, Maureen! I just started watching L&O UK and one thing that just tickles me is when the DS give the British version of the Miranda Warning, "You have the right to remain silent." If I were arrested in the UK, I probably would say, "What's that part in the middle again?"
ReplyDeleteThanks for a great blog! Irene in Seattle
Hi Irene! Yes, the US and the UK are different in so many ways.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate the positive feedback about my blog. Thanks!
