Happy Mothering Sunday to all the mums in the UK
Today is Mothering Sunday in the UK. It's not the same as Mother's Day in the USA (which is celebrated on the second Sunday in May) because it started as a religious holiday here and it is still connected to Easter. Mothering Sunday always falls on the 4th Sunday in Lent in the UK.
It's noticeable though that the greeting cards and adverts here are increasingly referring to "Mothering Sunday" as "Mother's Day" here in the UK.
