British airspace is closed due to Iceland volcano!

All flights to and from UK airports have been cancelled due to clouds of volcanic ash from Iceland

A cloud of volcanic ash has forced the closure of all UK air space and the cancellation of hundreds of flights, leaving passengers to choose between a refund or waiting for airports to reopen.

  1. It's all a bit unsettling, isn't it? My brother's flying back from New Zealand today - so any delays he faces will come on top of what's already been a lengthy journey home.

  2. Hi Laura, yes it is all very unsettling. I checked your blog so I know you live in England. Does your brother live in England too? If he does, he won't be able to fly back to the UK today (unless the situation changes very quickly indeed). I hope he's able to get home soon. Maybe his flight will be diverted to somewhere in Europe.

  3. It's frustrating. People has things to solve, and a diverted fly is time consuming.

  4. Yes, I'm sure it is extremely frustating for people who are stranded and desperate to get to their destination. It's a case of nature taking charge over circumstances though and airlines (wisely) making safety a priority for everyone.
