It's official: one of the wettest summers ever (in Britain)

I don't think we need to be told but September was Britain's least sunny for 15 years compounding the miserable effects of the greyest August on record and one of the wettest summers ever. (link via telegraph.co.uk) I didn't think it was possible for summer this year to be worse than last year but I was wrong. Summer? What summer?

  1. In view of that I'm really pleased with what I managed to do, and grow, on the plot.
Let's hope that it was a one-off and next year we'll actually have a proper summer. Mind you I suppose then we'll be moaning about a drought! xx

  2. Indeed, flighty - you managed to do very well with your allotment, despite the wet weather. You should be very proud.

I have my fingers crossed for next summer.

  3. Seconded! Summer 2006 was good, but we haven't had a proper summer since then, just the occassional sunny week. Let's hope summer 2009 will be better.

  4. I sincerely hope so, veggie carrie!
